Soteria Elite Medical Services was founded by Emergency Physician Dr. Marc Bellis and Firefighter Paramedic Maia Brown — two providers whose careers placed them at the intersection of emergency medicine and the realities of international travel.
With 25 years of emergency medicine experience, Dr. Bellis has witnessed firsthand how geographic location and access to quality care can determine a patient's outcome. Maia Brown brings 14 years in the fire service, including eight years as a paramedic, with a career defined by high-stakes decision-making in demanding environments.
Together, they identified a critical and largely unaddressed gap: high-net-worth individuals traveling internationally often take false assurance in 24/7 concierge physician services or comprehensive medical insurance plans — neither of which takes effect during the critical first moments of a medical emergency abroad.
